Arbutus Tea Lights are sold with Canadian-made, fire-proof polycarbonate cups in which they should be burned.

  • Whether this cup is used or not, they must be burned inside a container. They are designed to liquify inside the container. Tea lights should be burned until the melted wax pool reaches the side of the container.
  • Soy tea lights are particularly useful in essential oil diffusers, as they burn at a lower temperature than other waxes.

Arbutus Soy Wax is made from North American, pesticide-free, non-GMO soy beans grown for the purpose of creating wax. It is an all natural product, free of additives.

  • Biodegradable, environmentally friendly.
  • Does not contain any herbicides or pesticides.
  • Spilled wax cleans up with soap and water.
  • Non-GMO, supports non-GMO soybean farmers.
  • Burns longer than most waxes
  • Lower melting temperature reduces risk of burns due to melted wax.

Soy wax is more brittle than paraffin or beeswax.

  • Do not attempt to fold in sides of pillars or the candle may break.
  • If dripping occurs, extinguish candle immediately to prevent major wax spills.
  • Do not let the burn pool reach any holes in the sides of the candle.

Candle Burning Tips:

  • Keep wick centered and trim to 1/4” before each burn.
  • Do not trim any shorter than 1/8”.
  • Do not move if candle is burning or wax is hot.
  • Extinguish candle and allow to cool before moving.
  • Never leave a burning candle unattended
  • Rotate candles occasionally to promote even burning.
  • Remove any mushrooming (carbon build-up) at the end of the wick by extinguishing the candle and trimming the wick.
  • Extinguish candles with a snuffer to prevent wax spills and burn problems.
