The East Van Cross has quickly become a beloved symbol for those living in the grittier, working-class neighbourhoods of East Vancouver. Early depictions of this cross have been found in street graffiti and tattoos. But Vancouver's East Side pride was galvanized through the landmark neon cross at Clark Street and the Great Northern Way, created by local artist Ken Lum. Since then, you'll find this symbol on T-shirts, jewellery, and now on the Christmas trees of many a hip East-sider.
